Leddy
Leddy, 2003. Unique custom made armchair produced by Mats Theselius.
The exterior is done by James Leddy, a bootmaker in Abilene, Texas. Both he and his father were legendary bootmakers. James passed away in 2003 after working with boots for fifty years. Lotta Bromé sat in this armchair on TV on Christmas Eve 2003 when she succeeded Arne Weise as Christmas host on SVT.
Beside my collaborations with different design companies as a designer, I started my own production of unique custom made armchairs in 1999. My first model was made for the White house, the second one to Kremlin. In the last twenty years I have made over 30 different models. All of them use the same wooden frame, armrests and legs. The variations are expressed by the execution of the outside, and the material processing. They are manufactured in a network of different craftsmen in the south of Sweden where I live.
