The Chaise Lounge project begins when I make a first chair (image with red background) in the summer of 1988 in Stockholm with chiseled meander loops on aluminum sheet that I covered the outside of the chair with. Cherry wood seat.
It was shown at the exhibition "Konstnationalen" in 1989 in Globen, Stockholm and at Liseberg in Gothenburg, among other places. After I moved to Gothenburg in the fall of 1988, I continued working on the idea. First a second variant with larger areas on the sides (image with blue background) to let the pattern play a bigger "role". Aluminum seat. Then a third variant (image with yellow background) where I neglected to cut the model at the back to make even more room for the image on the side.
The furniture was made during a fairly short, intensive period in a workshop that otherwise built boats. The intermediate variant of the chair was used for my meeting place at Arlanda Sky City in 1993.
